It depends on the size of the area, the material you choose and how easy the access is — a compact front garden and a full rear garden transformation are very different jobs. That's why we measure up in person rather than quoting blind, and why the written quotation itemises materials, labour and timescale, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

That depends on the size and type of job, the access and the weather. We set out the expected timescale in your written quotation before you commit, so you know where you stand from the start.

In most cases no — provided the surface is permeable, or surface water drains to a soakaway or border rather than out onto the road. Resin bound driveways are fully permeable and SuDS compliant, which is one of the reasons they've become so popular. We'll advise on drainage when we quote, but if there's any doubt it's worth a quick call to your local council.

Because we cover brickwork, patios, driveways, fencing, decking, turf, garden rooms and outdoor kitchens in-house, you can have one team do the lot rather than coordinating three or four contractors — one standard of work, one point of contact. Equally, if you only want the patio doing, that's absolutely fine.

Porcelain gives you a sleek, contemporary surface that's frost-proof, stain-resistant, fade-proof and close to maintenance-free — it looks much the same in ten years as it does on day one. Indian stone is natural, so every slab varies a little in colour and texture, and that warmth and character suits period and stone-built properties particularly well. Both last a long time when they're properly laid, so it comes down to the look you're after. We'll talk you through both when we visit.

Very little. Artificial grass needs no mowing — an occasional brush and a rinse keeps it looking fresh. Resin bound surfaces are weed resistant and UV stable, so they hold their colour and there are no loose stones to sweep up. Both are popular precisely because they give you the look without the upkeep.

Composite costs more up front but barely needs maintenance and won't rot, warp or need staining, so it's often the better long-term value. Quality timber is cheaper initially and has a warmth composite can't quite match, but it needs treating periodically to stay looking its best. We install both, and we'll give you an honest view on which suits your garden and how much upkeep you actually want to take on.
